Jeff Weiss founded ASAP Ventures (www.asapventures.com) to help high-potential, growth-stage companies get to market faster and smarter. ASAP deploys advisory teams and board members, and assists with business development, strategy and capital formation, to businesses in the community. Jeff is active in the DC-area venture and angel community as an investor in several funds. Through his advisory and fund activities, Jeff has assisted some three dozen companies in the past five years through strategic changes, financings, and mergers or acquisitions.

Jeff is a long time e-business and on-line commerce entrepreneur. Jeff helped found two firms which deliver information and services to businesses online; E-Motion, formerly Picture Network International (www.emotion.com and www.picturequest.com), which was sold to Kodak in 1997, and CDx (Certificate of Deposit Exchange). He was Chief Marketing Officer of Vista Information Technologies, Inc. (www.vistait.com) during its growth by acquisition from $35mm to $100mm. At that time, he assisted with the acquisitions and with integrating and re-branding the company. He been a strategist advising numerous companies, an investment banking advisor (1988 - 1992), a management consultant, and has raised substantial funding from sources ranging from angel investors to corporate and venture investors. As a result, he has broad understanding of how young companies grow, how to create and communicate business and marketing plans, in managing operations, as well as in evaluating partners and closing capital transactions.

Jeff graduated from Cornell University and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife share a passion for opera, and are thoroughly enjoying raising their four young children. He is on the board of the Socrates Fellows of the Aspen Institute, the National Parks Foundation Shenandoah National Park Fund, the Landon Symphonette, and his class at Cornell University.
